Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL

The newly renamed National Tribal Symposium to Advance Transportation (NTS) is an annual event for tribal, federal, state, and private transportation professionals from across the U.S., providing transportation-related technical information and resources to those who live, work, and travel the roadways of Indian Country, and for all who are committed to improving the transportation infrastructure on tribal land. The event is brought to you by the Federal Highway Administration in support of the Tribal Technical Assistance Program.
The National Tribal Symposium to Advance Transportation is a federally supported conference presented by the Federal Highway Administration in support of the Tribal Technical Assistance Program. Over the course of three days, Symposium attendees will have opportunities to exchange knowledge and best practices, experience new innovations, and connect with FHWA and other federal transportation agency's subject matter experts, industry experts, and tribal transportation professionals.
This year's Symposium is built entirely around YOU, and how to provide you with the best resources to improve the transportation infrastructure on tribal land. The conference will include both the high-level overview of issues important to you, as well as specific knowledge-based best practices and concepts.
At NTS, you can meet one-on-one with FHWA, the Tribal Technical Program (TTP), the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to discuss challenges, seek guidance, and topics related to your program. Meeting requests can be made during registration.
If you are interested in becoming a presenter, please contact the Office of Program Delivery at CLAS@dot.gov. Be sure to include the proposed title of your session and a brief description.
